Make your biggest pot with our biggest course yet! Explore all the different ways you can make a lamp - from a small desk lamp made in two sections, to a huge table lamp using four!
This course is so valuable because it teaches not only how to make a lamp, but develops many studio skills along the way. You will learn ways of throwing larger pots, assembling sections to make one larger form, learning to see your pot in sections, collaring a neck, and of course wiring your lamp. This is likely the biggest course we will ever film as it took two months of filming and months and months of editing to make this course a reality. It’s the most popular course in our in-person studio and we just had to find a way to offer this to our online audience.
If you feel this may be a bit too large of a project, try starting with our Two-Section Pot course and then work towards making a lamp using the skills from that course. Everything in the lamps course can be scaled down or up depending on your current skill set. The most important thing is learning to see your pots in sections, which Ruthie discusses at length.
In this 30 video course Ruthie will take you along the entire process of not only making your lamp, but troubleshooting many of the problems that can occur along the way. From throwing each section, assembling, glazing and wiring, Ruthie teaches you how to make one of her favorite projects!
