Take Control at the Wheel - One Project at a Time
After working with hundreds of students at my teaching studio, I’ve found that project-based learning makes all the difference.
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
Each project is designed to build key clay skills — like throwing bigger, making lids, collaring, and more — all while creating pieces you will be proud of.
TROUBLESHOOTING
I show you how to fix common issues, based on real-world experiences with my students. I share the tools I use, plus the techniques and hand positions to make them work.
A COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT
Detailed, high-quality courses are mixed with Live Classes that answer your questions in real-time. Our TCO clay community helps us grow and learn together.
PERSONALIZED LEARNING
Stream anywhere. Pause, re-watch, change devices, mark favorites — it's easy to manage lessons to fit your needs. Your watch history lets you pick up right where you left off.
What Ruthie's students are saying
"Without Twisted Clay, I probably would have stopped trying to master the wheel. I have real projects that help show me how I’ve progressed in my learning journey. The instructions are easy to digest and I love being able to rewind certain parts over and over until I get it right!"
~ Kelli W.
I have done many in-person classes this year, and nothing has provided me the most guidance, and invaluable advice like your tutorials and videos do. I will be referring my friends that try pottery directly to your website!
~ Morgan M.
"Ruthie is a very talented and patient teacher with a great deal of experience and a willingness to share her knowledge. I have taken lots of classes in person and find that Ruthie's methods suit my needs more than most."
~John P.
