Ruthie is a highly experienced potter, with skills honed over the past 19 years. Her teaching methods are developed with real-world experience from the hundreds of classes taught at her in-person studio, Twisted Clay Studio, in Grapevine, Texas.
Twisted Clay Online projects contain detailed, high-quality video lessons to walk you through every stage of making, broken into short, easy-to-watch segments. Ruthie also includes troubleshooting tips from common issues her students experience. You will work on improving your clay skills and finish with a functional work of art. Our projects and classes are developed to build specific pottery skills such as collaring, lidded pots, throwing bigger, and many more techniques for working with clay. In addition to learning a main form, many courses include how to make an alternate form. Ruthie will show you the tools she uses, plus her techniques and hand positions to make them work.
